Getting a 1-month US Visa for a Romanian

As of July 2001 Contributor: Amy Tompkins

1. Pray

Have a church from the US send a short letter in English saying "we want you to come, we have heard a lot about you" and then the same church sent one to the embassy as an official invitation (all of these I could get you copies of if you want them... or send a kind of sample through the email). Then my dad, who is the vice president of the foundation I am starting sent a letter saying the same thing "we want cristi to come, we will cover finances but not encourage  him to stay after blah blah"

Then I sent a letter as well.... same kind of thing (as the president of the organization) and our church  in Romania sent one all saying that we need him here in Romania but are looking forward to him sharing what is happening her to people in the states. Cristi is also in school so he had a form saying that he has paid for the next year. Then I accompanied him to the embassy. (after I sent out an email requesting prayer from just about everyone I know!) We payed the fee (which could change but it was payed at the bank 50$ in Romanian lei and they gave you a receipt) and filled out the form (they give that there in the morning once you get there - you could probably get one some other way as well but I am not sure how) and brought the pictures... (my advice now is that you should call the embassy before you go and ask for specific information about what you need) It definantly was to his advantage that I accompanied him to the embassy.
